We live in a world that, well, lives online. And shopping online is a huge part. Of course, the online retail world is dominated by a company that probably does more volume than the biggest river in South America, the Amazon.
We all know (and shop) the online behemoth. For us "mom and pop" stores, we also know we can't quite compete with Amazon. So we carve out a niche and do what we can. Our modus operandi is to sell boating gear and accessories that we install, use and trust aboard out own vessel.
So it doesn't escape us as somewhat ironic that Amazon is actually making things a little easier for us and our customers. Starting yesterday, June 30, 2020 customers that check out using Amazon Pay will have the option of selecting an equal payments option. Here's the announcement:
Beginning June 30, customers who use their Amazon Prime Store Card or Amazon.com Store Card will have the option to select 6 Equal Monthly Payments as a financing option on purchases of $150 or more when checking out using Amazon Pay. This financing option will be available through December 31, 2020.
That's great news for boaters who have had spendier items like the Ultraline Flat Rope Reel on their wish list:
There's also our newest product line, handcrafted by M&B Ship Canvas - World's Finest Seabags & Ditty Bags:
If you've been looking at the Furuno Wireless Radar, here's your chance to make the purchase even more affordable than it already is:
There's our beautiful line of unparalleled nautical jewelry handcrafted by Aumaris of Hawaii:
Lisa wears her silver anchor chain bracelet almost every day!
And you don't need to buy just one item that is more than $150. If you bought enough items from our San Juan Islands Collection the Amazon payment option could apply:
While we will readily admit we aren't Amazon (or Fisheries Supply or Defender for that matter!), we do have quite a few items that are exclusive to Pacific NW Boater TESTED. Plus, we really do what we can to provide our customers good value, honest experiences, and customer service.
And right now we'll even thank Amazon for providing the new payment option!
Why are we so excited about something as mundane as fuel cans...?
It was a Dark & Stormy night. Meaning it was a night where a good, stiff rum drink was in order! It was December. The temperature had dropped into the upper 30s. The wind was blowing a steady 30-plus, and the rain was subsequently pelting down at a sideways angle. The wind with three to four-foot waves were rocking the boat. And there I was out on the side deck, on my knees with a traditional 5-gallon diesel jerry can trying to fill the aft fuel tank - without spilling any diesel - so we could turn the heater back on. <more>
